Collective Action: Equitable Access to Justice
A class action lawsuit allows an individual or organization to take legal action on behalf of a group of people with similar interests. This procedure is particularly useful in cases where individual claims would be too costly or difficult to pursue, such as for small sums claimed by a large number of people or in disputes between citizens and large corporations. The advantage of this approach lies in the pooling of costs and efforts, thus giving potentially isolated victims the opportunity to assert their rights collectively.
